Equipment
Required Equipment
Please bring
– a helmet (a bike helmet is fine),
– winter gloves,
– long pants,
– and a water bottle.
Skates will be provided for all participants.
Borrow Our Equipment
Our families have donated equipment for you to borrow to get the full hockey experience! We’ll help you get completely outfitted to enjoy the ice.
Our equipment is limited and will be provided first-come, first-served. A helmet, gloves, and long pants are required to get on the ice, so please bring those items in case we don’t have equipment that will fit your child.
What to Expect
On the morning of the event, meet us at the rink between 9:00 and 9:20. We’ll have our equipment spread out in the locker room. One of our great hockey parents will help you and your child find equipment to use during the event. Using our equipment is entirely optional. If your skater is more comfortable in their own pads (for example, roller blade knee and elbow pads), that’s great. All players must have a helmet, so make sure to bring a helmet, including a bike helmet.
Once geared-up, participants will receive a quick demo in how to stand up after falling, and then it’s onto the ice at 9:35. Players and coaches from our teams will join us to make sure everyone has help and the opportunity to score a goal! We have the ice for an hour. Most participants spend the full hour on the ice, but you’re welcome to participate for as long as you want.
After the ice time, volunteers will help you get out of equipment and answer any questions you have about our programs.
